... can't open a folder via a desktop shortcut. Is that a bug, or just something pretty fundamental that just isn't implemented ?

Reproduced here with the error message An error occurred while opening one or more files. The file could not be opened. Make sure the file exists and that you have access to the file/folder.

In my opinion, it's a bug in Acid Pro 6 because it was implemented in Acid Pro 4.

I've got that error message with 6.0d.
Thus, I guess it's a native problem with version 6.0.
As I said before, shortcuts work fine with version 4.0.
I don't know about version 5.0.

By the way, I don't use shortcuts. Maybe few people do ?

Latest advice from Support was a step-by-step instruction to remove *ALL* my Sony applications including (manually) remainder registry entries, and re-install ! They have to be joking.

Grateful for any more reports of this error - Acid 6d Explorer cannot follow 'shortcut' links to folders.

I have it on 3 installs.

Funny, I do not get any error, but the folder just doesn't open. So it does not work (6.0d here as well).
Not that I use desktop shortcuts, but tried it just to see whether I could reproduce the problem.
Geoff, one suggestion though. Wouldn't it be more practical just to add the folder accessed by your shortcuts to the Favourites list in Acid's Explorer? I use that feature a lot, even with folders from external hard drives I do not always have connected to my computer.

Well you could just dump all yopur data folders onto the desktop, but that doesn't work when you have folders on separate DRIVES .

However shortcuts to those drives and folders on the destop are kind of handy. Or shoul be.

You don't have all on one drive, do you ?
