in the mixer window there is an option to open soft synth, at which time a small keyboard appears and is playable with many instrmnt options , how or can a person record this synth into a project or create a track from said synth, Sony DLS |

Create a new MIDI track (make sure it is routed to the DLS) and: 1) Use the Inline MIDI editor/MIDI clip editor and draw in MIDI notes using your mouse. 2) Drag & drop pre-existing MIDI files from the Loop Explorer 3) Use an external MIDI device (like a keyboard controller) and record notes into the track. thanks BB, I hate to admit it , but I was unaware that there was an midi/clip deal in the lower area until I tried to drag that section up ,then low and behold there it was ,the manual doesnt explain alot of these things very well, you just need to learn on the job. so you need an external keyboard to control the DLS, yes ? to bad, I can play it with the mouse but am unable to record it to a track, oh well, thanks for your help ,tp |

I am not sure if you are aware of these, but there are some free ACID Pro 6 training videos, that may be helpful: http://www.sonymediasoftware.com/support/trainingvids.asp?prod=acidpro Cheers, Billy Buck |

You don't need an external keyboard. You can play it using the mouse and have ACID record the MIDI. Two ways to do this: - On the track that you want to record to, set the input source to the DLS softsynth. When you play the keyboard on the DLS synth, it will record the MIDI notes. - When a track is set to inline editing mode, the keyboard on the left of the track can be used as an input souce for step record or normal record. Note that this also works with VST Instruments that send there MIDI to ACID - not all do. Peter |
