I just installed an raid array on my computer, so I reinstalled my Sound Forge program. When I opened it back up I am now unable to use all of the Sonic Foundry tools, ie. Time Stretch, Reverb, Chorus, Delay/Echo, from the pull down menus. I have some time compress/ expand, reveb, etc. plugins but none work as well as the ones from my drop down menu. When I try to reauthorize the website isnt there anymore. I really need to get those tools back. Please help. |

i just reinstalled Batch Converter and can't get the site to register it either. Server unavailable or something. And it says Sonic Foundry, not Sony, though I just downloaded it from My Software in My Account. |

I lost all Sound Forge 8 plug-ins. I own SF8 but it's acting like SF Studio for some odd reason. Tech support told me to use their registration migration tool but it did not work. You can try that. It's on the download page. It didn't work for me but it might for you. Do not expect any help from support unless you bought a support package. I am 5 days now waiting for an e-mail response. Good Luck. |

Start->Programs->Sony->Utilities->Migration Tools->Register Sony DirectX Audio Plug-ins. If you are using a pre-Sony version, find sfppack*.dll in the shared installation folder and drag them onto an open instance of Forge to re-register. If all else fails, Start->Run->regsvr32.exe "<full path of plug-in .dll>" J. Message last edited on12/20/2006 8:49:37 AM byForumAdmin. |

Regarding re-installing SF8 so I can get back out of Demo mode, I just got a response from somebody (probably from India): "To ensure that you get a proper installation of your software onto your system, we would ask that you un-install all of your Sony Media Software and older Sonic Foundry software. Do this from the Windows Control Panel's Add/Remove Programs Menu." This is an excerpt of the whole procedure which involves editing the Windows Registry, etc. I have 5 or 6 Sonic Foundry/Sony products and this would take all night. I am okay with that. BUT, what if I lose other software functions from Acid, CD Architect, etc. I do not trust the Sony people to have my back. It seems awful risky. Anyone else getting a better response from Tech Support??? |
