well I got acid 6.0d to start after a complete uninstallation/re-installation.

Now, whenever I try to scan vst instruments (whether on startup or in preferences) it immediately throws up 3 or more dialogue boxes (see below) then crashes.

VJobServer::ServerThread -- An unrecognized exception occured! (stage:0)

Which vsti do you see come up during the scan that causes the error message to appear. I used to see that whenever I would scan my vsti and bfd would come up. [from fxpansion bfd] I honestly haven't seen that error in a long time. I'll do a vsti scan and let you know my results.

The only thing I can recommend is...

Uninstal acid.
Uninstall media manager.
Go to your program files folder...sony setup folder...delete your acid 6.0 setup folder.
Go to windows update and download whatever you haven't updated already.
Reboot.
Install acid 6.0d
Reboot.
Startup acid...enter your code...???

Tell us what happens then.

Again which vsti's come up during the crash...vendor name...vsti name...version # of the vsti.

Please make sure you have the most current version of all your plugins as well.

thanks for the replies. I just got done doing your suggestions -- complete uninstall/deleting all traces/re-install/re-boot. Initially the same thing happened.

But -- I updated BFD from version 1.5.0 to 1.5.45 and it seems to have done it. So thanks!

Note: other hosts didn't have this problem, but I'm glad it fixed. Wish Acid didn't crash and/or gave something meaningful. I couldn't tell it was BFD but glad you made your suggestion.

Actually if you watched closely the vsti's names scrolling along while acid was scanning for them either during the initial acid startup or in the preferences/vsti tab you should have seen it too.

I did a check on my system forcing a refresh of my vsti folder 3X and never a crash.

BTW...I use jamstix with bfd and I think it compliments BFD very well. If you don't own it already I highly recommend it.
