OT: Motion/Video Loops

fixler wrote on 11/29/2006, 6:15 PM
Hi everyone,

I realize this is a little of the topic but I am looking to purchase a very small set of motion/video loops for a live concert. A client has approached me to put together some material to play back on a large screen behind a band, and I figured motion loops would work the best...

They do not want to spend much at all and I am looking for loops that are impressive, fast paced, texture driven and could be downloaded from the web, at least until the product arrives in the mail.

Thanks //fixler

check this site out http://www.visions-uk.com/ they are for DVD menu creations, but some of the videos they use are great for that and it is very cheap, $30 lets you get unlimited downloads for three months. I wish there were more sites out there like this one.

I use the Sony Vision loops fromm here quite a bit.
Don't think you can download them though, pretty big files.

I think these would go very well behind a band. FLV or swf format though I think:

Thanks everyone, they all look great but I managed to find a really good deal on the loops at digitaljuice.com. They are offering three loop sets for $99 each usually costing $249!! PLUS you get free Christams set.

Thanks for your help.

PS> Delivery is the killer, $80 for FedEx delivery!

Am I missing something - not unusual for me? Why not concoct these yourself? Vegas has keyframable, animated GenMed? You have a million options with text and "found" bits of footage?!? It would be a great project to do.

Oh no FedEx delivery either! Mind you, you WOULD miss out on the free Christmas set .. . yeah . . that's true . . .

Sorry . . .

... Delivery is the killer, $80 for FedEx delivery!...

Are you not living in the US? I put the same number of items in the checkout cart, and the 2-Day FedEx was $18, and Overnight was $39.

$5 Delivery

Don't quite think you could make most of these in Vegas.
Start with these AND Vegas and then you can make some good stuff but Vegas just doesn't have the toolset. They did say what they were done with when they first came out, sure wasn't Vegas.

They've got a couple of freebies for download as well.

Yeah, I am in Australia. Though, I had to go for the most expensive delivery option as I need these ASAP. The economy was $74, what a saving...

I am quite excited anyway. I have had a good chance to look around and truly nothing comes quite as close as these.

I'll keep you posted on how they work out, thanks again for all your input.

I bought 3 of their Motion Elements sets. You can't beat the price.

I have started building up a nice collection of digitaljuice products. Using them in Vegas as part of a project does add professionalism to the overall project. Render time does go up, but thats because the projects become more complicated.

BluffTitler, a $50 text animation program, makes some pretty impressive background loops. Easily too. Check out thier gallery and you will see several. www.blufftitler.us

Also there was a free program discussed a year or so ago that generated great background loops with only a few clicks. I forget the name of it but will check when I get home tonight.

What are the in's and out's of getting SD vs. HD loups? Looking forward, HD looks like the way to go. What are the drawbacks to using on SD projects?

I can't say for sure, but I imagine it would be like using higher res stills, it gets down res'd for mpg2, but it looks better.

www.animationfactory.com

For a $100 yearly fee you can get access to all their stuff. They have a large collection of video backgrounds and alot of them are abstract design.

Hi Bruce,

nothing wrong with them. It' s when you said "I tried to post this but am having problems with the posting mechanism... I'll try again." I thought you were having trouble assembling a link.

Sorry

Hi Alan -

No Prob - Appreciate the offer of help (I'll take that any place I can get it). I was having problems submitting and editing - Must have been server problems at that moment (seems to be happening with more frequency as of late).

Thanks again!

Bruce
