Subject:piano roll plays back wrong? Posted by: solar28 Date:11/29/2006 2:02:56 AM Hey All I hope this is something I'm doing. I've got a vsti (phatmatik pro) that is being played by a midi track. It plays back fine. I then open piano roll via clip properties. When I click on the keyboard in the piano roll -- the correct sound plays back -- but when I push the play button in the piano roll screen -- some weird general midi sound plays back. And I don't have any general midi outputs enabled in preferences. So to recreate: 1) Midi track routed correctly. The midi data is triggering the soft synth appropriately when I press play (on main transport). Both midi track and soft synth are using channel 1. 2) I Open piano roll -- via clip properties. 3) I click on the piano roll on screen keyboard -- and sound routes through soft synth correctly -- i.e. c4 plays a bass drum. I click c4 key (or hit c4 on my keyboard) and the bass drum sound plays and the vsti bus in the mixer shows the audio routed through. 4) I then click the piano roll's play button, and some weird sound plays back, maybe GM? Anyway, sound no longer goes through the soft synth bus. In short -- how can the piano roll play button not play the soft synth that the midi clip is routed to? I hope this makes sense, it's a bit late (or early . . . ).
