Get yourself a external hard drive with usb 2.0. This way all you have to do is save your session to the external drive with ALL the wave files your using. Plug it to the wall outlet and connect to his computer via usb 2.0 connections. Once connected his computer will read the external drive and you can now open the session. If it is a very large project consider copying all the data to his AUDIO drive so there will be no "bottlenecking" due to the transfer rate of the usb connection. You should be good to go. When I say copy ALL the wave files to his AUDIO drive its because you should never have your project files on the same hard drive as your OS and programs. FYI thats all. Ed. |

SHTUNOT, why can't he do what you suggested with his flash drive? Unless he has a huge project, most USB drives will handle the job same as an external HD? |

jumbuk I'm sorry I don't understand your question. What kind of flash drive can hold that much data? I know nothing of a flash drive so it would be cool to educate me on this. If he can fit it on his drive then when he goes to his friends place why can't he just drag the project from the flash drive onto his buddies sytem and start creating? Ed. |

I'll jump in, you can get 4GB flash drives for $90 http://www.pexagontech.com/products/flash-drives/thumb-drives/store-it-4gb-thumb-drive---silver-83.php |

Wouldn't it work to simply save the project as an acd.zip file? (Save As/Acid Project With Embedded Media). Then Acid saves compiles everything into a single acd.zip file which you can bring to your friend's house and open directly in Acid Pro (no need to unzip it). No need to buy a USB hard drive or copy the wav files separately. |

Option 1. At the 'save as' menu you can choose ' copy all media with project' that saves all the .wav files loose in the same folder. Or Option 2. Under 'save as' menu name box you can choose 'acid project with embedded media' option then you get a big acid file with all the .wav (or whatever files from you project) in one .acd zip file. See also 'Help' on acid program for more info. V Message last edited on11/24/2006 6:54:23 PM byVMP. |
