Please give me a moment of your time. I'm using ap 6.0 and get garbled playback after recording. Sounds fine going down but kind of warbles when played back. Loop playback is fine. This happened once before and I fixed it with system restore, but I have too many songs (and tracks ) to lose now. ve been stumbling through my settings and drivers for some time now, so I need the help of one of you PROS.. I'm losing it!!! About ready to dump the whole mess and go back to ap3.0 and an audigy 2 sound card. Any suggestions? I will greatfully accept and appreciate any help. Thanks, Spider

are your recorded tracks running in Loop mode or in Beat-Mapped mode? if it is the latter then try setting the track to One Shot to see if that makes a difference.

Actually there are three (3) modes: Loop, Beatmap, & One-Shot. You switch between them by right-clicking a clip and select Clip Properties..., then on the General tab under ACID Type you can select Loop, One-Shot, or Beatmapped.

You can set your audio recording default to be Beatmapped or One-Shot in the Audio Properties. If Beatmapped is the default ACID will alter the playback to match the project tempo which can make it sound a bit strange at times. I have my audio recording default set to One-Shot.

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU ATP. You are a F#@%ing GENIUS||||| One click of the drop down got my whole world fixed. To all who need to know. Open Acid . Go to OPTIONS at top. Click and go to PREFERENCES at bottom. Find your AUDIO tab. click and look for ACID PRO TYPE FOR RECORDED AUDIO. If you're seeing BEATMAPPED, click the drop down menu and select ONE SHOT. This solved my problem completly. I can now get back to what I love... Recording with Acid Pro. Thanks again ATP P.S. Go to Auralfixationrecords.com and tell Dave that Spider would like you to have FREE copys of our CD's (Smoke & Mirrors) sent to you for all help.

Thanx JohnnyRoy.... Didn't realize I could do it this way (by right clicking the the clip itself) as well. I just defaulted all my recording in to ONE SHOT. BTW, are there any disadvanrages to laying down tracks as ONESHOTS that you know of? Spider

what are the advantages of having it defaulted to one shot instead of looped?

There are no disadvantages to laying down tracks as One-Shots. This is how every other DAW works. One-Shot simply mean that the audio is played back exactly as it was recorded with no tempo shifting. This is almost always what you want. I have never found a use for recording as Beatmapped.

I love this forum! I had the same problem with Beatmapper and it was killing me. I could not find a way to disable the Beatmapper function. Thanks to JohnnyRoy's answer, I can sleep well at night now. Thanks again and happy holidays everyone!
