Subject:Drag and Drop between tracks...why NOT

I hate having to use Vegas for half my audio stuff that involves cutting up multiple tracks of vocals.

Why in the world can't Acid 6 allow you to drag files from one track to the other within a project? Obviously there would have to be some rules coded (wavs can't be dragged to midi tracks), but thats pretty duh. Frankly, Acid should be Vegas with VSTi capability.

If they would add VSTi capability and Rewire to Vegas I'd never need to use ACID. WHY IS ACID HANDICAPPED?

Actually, unless my memory fails, Sony only said it wouldn't happen in an update to THIS release (v6), not that it would never happen.

I hear ya, it's rediculous to have a DAW in 2006 and not have this ability....but this subject has been beatin to death starting with the first day of the v6.0 release. For now, you have to use cut and paste methods. Create a new track....select the event you want to move on the other track and hit CNTRL+C (copy) or CNTRL+X (Cut) and then click on the header of the new track you created and then press CNTRL+V. Your event will be moved to the same positon onto another track using those steps. So the capability is there in Acid, just not the drag and drop function. I guess, Sony might not want to have confused the previous Acid 5 users, since you couldn't do it there also....but there was probably a good reason to not have it in v5.0......but that's the only reason I can figure as to why it's not in v6.0. So start saving your pennies and buy Acid v7.0......oh wait...maybe that's another reason?
