Audio sync drift on PTT

If I capture an hour of DV from the DSR-11 through firewire - it works fine.
But when I try to dump that same hour back to tape (the same route) the audio drifts as if there is a dropframe mismatch. Do I have a setting wrong?

No, this problem has been dogging me for a while. Certainly in versions 6&7. Doesn't come into play very often - but when I need a long PTT it's there.

Could this be caused by the firewire chip? I am using the on-board in an Asus 8AN-SLI. Should I get a new one?
