We are dealing with the specific issues raised by other forum members here. What have you encountered personally that is causing you problems? If you have issues outside of or in addition to the posts made by others, it would help us to resolve them. So, please, let us know the details of your personal experiances and issues so we can set out to resolve them for you. Thanks, Peter |

Nothing special to mention, I have just read the other posts. I'm really amazed : updates 6.0b and 6.0c are meant to fix problems, not to add new ones !! Logically, the initial release should have been almost bug free if the job (programming and testing) was done properly. How do programmers and testers work ? Is the source code unreadable or difficult to master ?? Are the alpha and beta testers so absent-minded ??? You should change you working method (maybe sack unqualified people) because the trust in Acid is decreasing... Just a thought for the future... |

> Nothing special to mention, I have just read the other posts. Don't believe everything you read (and only half of what you see). Personal Computers are famous for problems cause by User Error. I'm not saying all the problems are caused by users but many are due to people not understanding how to set their PC's up right for audio recording or using hardware that has buggy drivers. Sony has been very good about addressing the errors that users are finding. > Is the source code unreadable or difficult to master ?? You are obviously not a software developer and have no idea what you are talking about. A small plug-in can easily be 10,000 lines of code. I wouldn't even guess how many lines of code are in ACID 6 but suffice it to say that it a complex system with 100's if not 1000's of interdependencies. Add to that the fact that ACID interfaces with audio drivers from 100's of different manufacturers, some of which write rather buggy code and don't follow the specs, and you have a system with a lot of variables to consider. > Are the alpha and beta testers so absent-minded ??? Yea we are all absent minded. I keep forgetting where I placed my bug finder. Listen to yourself: SonyPCH asks: What have you encountered personally that is causing you problems? Djipy answers: Nothing special to mention, According to your own admission, ACID has NO BUGS because you are not encountering any! So if you were a beta tester, can I blame you for the problems others are having? Beta testers test the product in their environment using their workflow and report any bugs they find. This will not necessarily find bugs in your environment using your workflow. Like I said, according to you, ACID is bug free. Are you so absent-minded that you can't find them yourself? ~jr Message last edited on11/14/2006 8:10:58 AM byJohnnyRoy. |

ACID 6.0c has issues with midi some VST's. Just admit it, SMS just does not appear to be really on top of the needs of professionals. - Kevin |

I wont admit to this, as I don't agree with you at all. Yes, 6.0c has introduced some new problems, and we are addressing these as fast as we can. However, I assure you that we care about the needs of all of our users. Regardless, if you have some specific issues/problems/bugs with ACID that you want to have addressed or looked at, please share the details with me. I have reviewed your posts and I have found little if any specific issues. You seem to be focused more on what ACID doesn't do - in comparison to Vegas - than what it can do. I encourage you to enumerate the problems/bugs you are having with ACID 6. We try to focus on what is broken before we focus on what is missing. You can post the specifics here or click on my name and send me an email if you'd like. Peter |

Hi, Peter - Since we're "enumerating" mode, can you please enumerate the following (taken from an earlier thread to which I posted): I'm not too fond of a number of MusicXP's service-related tweaks. It would be of great help if you would list the services that ACID requires to function properly. Although I am quite sure that I am not disabling one too many services (since I have not experienced such issues with ACID), it still would be nice to know. :) Thank you very much! ;-) Best regards, Mike E. I will keep it simple: We don't support what is suggested on the audio optmization sites. Don't mess with your services and you will be happy. I am not going to be held accountable for listing specifics when in fact a specific service may be required by some other component of your system. Software interacts with each other. Bottom line, is tweak at your own risk. I would suggest that you write down everything you did, make a back up or ghost so that when/if you have problems you can get back to a point before you tweaked for that 1/100th % of a performance perk. That's fair enough, Peter. :) I'm in total agreement with your last paragraph. My own tweaks are consistent, and I'm a fan of Ghosting. In fact, I'll usually "waste" time right after bootup and disable those chosen services manually (e.g., Anti-virus, networking...I never go online when I'm doing audio); this way, my machine is fine the next time I boot up. Sorta like non-destructive editing here. ;-) Best personal regards, Mike E. Dee |
