Install latest Quicktime with authoring tools option (not Pro, authoring tools is free)

Dave, I don't see that option on their download page. The only authoring tools I see is a page full of commercial products. Got a link? Thanks.

In previous versions, I think it was an install option, but I just updated mine and can't find the option anywhere. However, I was watching the files being installed and it appears it is loaded automatically, I saw "*authoring*" files being copied.

I'm sorry if I sound thick... but what program did you install?

Thank you. I'll try it.

How did you work out with this? I've downloaded the installer from the site and appear to be missing the authoring tools. The blurb seems to suggest these are in Quicktime Pro.

Same here. No authoring tools in latest QT downloads.

After installing V7, I checked the Quicktime render templates, they were blanked out. I installed the latest free QT7 without iTunes, and my QT templates then appeared. Sorry, I haven't had time to test it and am going out of town.

During the QT install, it uninstalls the old version then installs the newer. If you watch the progress, one of the files was the authoring tools in both the uninstall and the install steps. There use to be an option on whether to include the authoring tools, but it appears that now it is automatically installed.

Serena, Sorry I didn't get back on this. I did install the free Qucktime software and now I can use mov files in V7 just like before my upgrade. Thanks.

Interesting, because I did the same and don't have the authoring tools. However that isn't all bad because it has provided the necessary excuse for not including an irrelevant promo that proud client wanted tacked ahead of the main titles. It had been made to promote the event and was quite nice for that purpose, but rather horrible as a lead in to the DVD.
