Subject:HINT : Be aware of the Midi channel behaviour

I found myself very surprised when I found this out (thanx to Sony's support). I thought this would be helpful for the midi heads, or the beginners like me :

Every time you insert a Midi track, it goes up to +1 channel. Which means :
- Insert a new midi track in a new project, its channel will be 1.
- Insert ANOTHER new midi track, then its channel will be 2.

This is important to know when find yourself with one midi track for a SoftSynth, and another midi track for another SoftSynth, and this last midi track doesn't seem to control correclty the SoftSynth it is linked to (i.e. you see clearly the note being played, but you don't hear them) . In fact, it's because your 2nd midi track is routed to the 2nd midi channel.

>>> To check this, right-clic on the midi track's name, and go to "MIDI Channel", and then select the correct channel you want to control in the SoftSynth.

This is also good to know, when you want to make a song with more than one instruments within a VSTi like Kompakt.

I know this might sound very obvious to some people, but I hope it'll help all the newbies that are getting into this complicated Midi world.

HTH,
Zac.

Thanks, I hadn't noticed that before. Still a newbie I guess.
