Well, heres the deal. I create a new MIDI track. I insert a soft synth (doesn't matter what it is: Sony DLS or absynth 3 for instance) I draw out an 8 measure MIDI loop or open up an exsisting MIDI file. I right click on the MIDI file and go into the clip properties window which brings me to the MIDI editor window. I draw out a few notes and audition them with the play button in the MIDI editor window and it sounds all modulated like the buffer settings are set too low in the asio control panel. Right now I have them set at 50 ms and it sounds horrible. It also sounds transposed a few keys down from the original which is set at the default 0. I didn't have these problems with ACID Por 6.0b what so ever so I rolled back to ACID Pro 6.0b. I was wondering if anyone else has experienced these same problems. One other thing, If I use Inline MIDI editing with the exact same setings, I have zero problems. Any help would be great!!! PETER!!! |

Whew! I'm so glad it's not just me! I recently installed the latest creative audio drivers and thought that might be the problem but it happens with the previous version as well. I also noticed when I increase the buffer settings on the Creative ASIO driver, the garbled sound seems to get a lil better but too much latency for piano playing through MIDI. I think its the sony ASIO dll file that might be the problem. A quick fix would be nice...any suggestions? |

I have the same issue, many projects will be affected by this. I know we never comment on when patches will be delivered, but please -- at least make 6.0b available again. I would also recommend an advance installer which performs the uninstall of c, commits a clean-up process and then installs 6.0b. Back to FL until these issues are worked out. Thanks -- |

I understand your frustration. We are working to solve this issue. Not to mimimize this problem, but this is a MIDI preview playback issue, so it should not affect any projects adversely. I will see if I can get 6.0b made available. Thank you for your installer suggestion, but it is unlikely to update the installer to uninstall a previous install. You will have to do that manually. I understand the inconvinence of you having to take two steps vs one, but the complexities of doing what you propose is just not in the scope or time frame of an update. Peter |
