sound forge 6.0 "addicted" to my camcorder -Sound Forge - PC

I posted a couple months back that when I start Sound Forge, it crashes before fully starting. What was strange was that sometimes it wouldn't crash and I could use it, but why was a total mystery. Well I finally figured it out, Sound forge is addicted to my camcorder!!! If I don't have my camcorder connected to the computer with firewire and turned on, Sound Forge crashes at startup. The same thing is happening to Vegas Video, and Vipcap. Can anyone shed some light on why this is happening? And can anyone eplain how to break Sound forge's addiction to my camera?
