Layouts for V7

I'm late to the party on upgrading to V7. Thanx to Sony for extending the deadline a few days. --- Does anyone know of a repository of Vegas layouts? I find plenty of discussion but no actual VWL files. I'm looking for one that looks (I hate the term) "industry standard." I have my personal (and decidedly non-standard) layout but I'm looking for something a bit more FCP-ish. It might help put a hinky client at ease during a meeting.

I think it would be a fantastic idea to share our VWL layouts. I'm not certain how to make them at this time, but I added a section at Madison Library to upload your VWL's, so you could be the first start sharing. Host 'em there and direct link to the files here.

Great idea. The futuristic layouts are good if you don't mind toggling F11. Will dual monitor layouts work for sharing if I undock and put floating windows on my right monitor?

Thanks Jonathan. I've never spent the time to move my layout around, now I understand why so many "pros" like the timeline on the bottom. I find I like it much better, also.

Bifocals.

Next time someone tells you they want you to use a pro tool with the timeline on the bottom, tell them "I'm sorry, but my vision is fine!"

Your first statement makes me think that you prefer the timeline on the bottom and the video preview on the top, but your second statement makes me think that you want the timeline on the top and the video preview on the bottom. Which one is it, eh?

It doesn't seem like there is much power in these layout controls, is anyone else experimenting with this? I noticed there were 80 downloads, that was cool :)

Jonathan, if you're referring to my comments, sorry I wasn't too clear. I have always used the timeline on the top. I tried the layouts with timeline on the bottom and like it better because I don't have to tilt my head so my bifocal glasses can read the timeline better.

I was trying to crack a joke about previous threads commenting on some non-Vegas users saying Vegas isn't professional because the timeline is on the top, not the bottom. They must have bifocals like me.

I've found my created presets for dual monitors don't work so well when I reopen them. I want a separate mixer on the bottom of my right screen and video preview above it but if I go to another view and then back it puts both the mixer and preview in a single docked window. Anyone else able to get seperate windows to stay on two or three screen setups?

If you modify one of the VWLs to suit your taste, save it under another name.

And thanks for the submissions and the repository.

This hole layout thing is one of the reasons I love Vegas. You have so many ways of making your layout, to fit all kinds of workflows and setups, dual / single / widescreen monitors.
