The upgrade has been written and submitted to publisher for their decision-making process. However, CMP Books is no more. they were acquired by Focal Press just about the same time as Vegas 7 was launched, so it might be a little while til we see the book actually fly. We're determining internally, how we should best handle the situation.
Either way, with or without Focal Press, you'll see a new Vegas 7 book shortly, even if it isn't the Workshop book.
There I am wondering about the redundancy issue. Ialso have 4 and 5 of your book(s) and wonder if they're are plans for a shorter: "What's new in Vegas 7" sorta thing .....
The update to the book was finished long ago. It's now in the hands of the publisher. It's been so slow that we're also doing an e-book that will be available shortly.
I can't begin to express my gratitude to Spot for the V4 DVDs all those years ago, 2+ years I think, it changed my life. I wouldn't have had the confidence to try using Vegas "balls-out for a living" like I've been doing, and now thanks to Douglas' training, as the primary resource, I've made high six figures in DVD sales from my multi-DVD products. So again, thanks a billion.
And yes, agree - anything new on DVD video tutorials for latest builds of Vegas would be greatly appreciated, maybe an "advanced effects" DVD? for masking/beziers/pan crop tips and tricks a la the Chuck Peters great videos at digitaljuice.com... but if not, thanks for showing how in the V4 and other DVDs, made a huge difference.
yup, there likely won't be one. It was written, turned in, and then publisher sold to another publishing company. The new publisher has a 6 month production schedule. This could change, but don't hold your breath (I'm already blue enough for all of us).
