When I try and upload a video file into Music Studio 6, there's a message that says I need to purchase the Mpeg plugin? What the hell is this about. I spend $70.00 on software that I can't even fully use, because of 3rd party restrictions. That's bullshit! Sorry I'm pissed, but I really wnated to edit video, and this this thing came up. If the file was already an Mpeg that I wanted to use, would Acid Music Studio Studio upload it, or would I still get this message? The file wasn't an Mpeg format to begin with. Please help. Thank you very much! Bryant |

ACID Music Studio wouldn't be showing you that message unless the file is MPEG. What type of file is it? Where did it come from? Many file type extensions are merely "containers" which can contain other codecs. Some .AVI files use MPEG compression. SONY has to pay a licensing fee for every copy of the MPEG coded that their customers use. One of the ways that they make the Studio version so cheap is to not include the MPEG codec with the base version. The studio versions are inexpensive, watered down versions. The full version of ACID costs about 6 times as much. So, for 1/6th the price you should expect some limitations. What do you intend to do when you "edit video?" ACID is most definitely not a video editor. It allows you to include a single video track so that you can score music to a video, but it won't let you do anything with that video track. If you want to edit video then Vegas is the program to use. On the other hand, if what you want to do is edit the audio that goes along with an existing video file then ACID will do just fine. |
