I'm using sound forge 6 and I need to make some songs sound like an old (60's) AM radio for a student movie. Could anyone offer some guidance?

Thanks,
Gopher

The technique known as "Worldizing" works for me and many when called upon to But without specifics, (transistor radio? Car radio, ect.??? ) we can't tell you how to go about it.

Try a shelving HPF around 50Hz and LPF around 8KHz. Sony Track EQ (bands 1 and 4), 24dB/8ve

geoff

Hi Gopher,

Check out this article:

Try the telephone technique. It should give you similar results.

In addition to what Scott said, try playing around with the "center frequency" (bring it up a bit) and "band width" (bring it down a bit) settings in the Parametric EQ.

Also try adding just a touch of distortion (via the Distortion effect) afterward.

try the free "vinyl" plugin from Izotope. It's meant to sound like damaged LPs but some of its effects are pretty AM like.
