Wizooverb W2 is crashing Acid 6.0b -ACID Product Family

My computer is a PC laptop / XP SP2 / 2gb core duo / 2gb ram machine...W2 works on other hosts and in standalone mode...but when I open it in Acid, it first appears without a GUI and gets stuck on the first preset...and then if I close the project and reopen, just clicking on the FX tab will cause the whole program to freeze, and a THIS PROGRAM IS NOT RESPONDING message. I spent much of last evening trying out all my VST's and VSTi's in Acid 6, and I'm finding that Acid does not like a fair amount of them--many little freebies from independent developers, but others too--some Voxengo plugs, and of course Wizooverb. And then there is the window resizing glitches, and problems with the renaming function, which I'll put in a separate thread. Overall I am absolutely delighted with Acid 6, but I hope you guys put some effort into how the program deals with VST's, for the next update.

I have little trouble with vsts and vstis. For example, my Voxengo plugs work fine. I remember a couple of years ago I had to go throught all the vsts I had collected. I put them all in a seperae folder and moved them back one at a time. That way I found the problems. You can't do that with vsts that require an installer, but the freebes are usually the ones that cause problems. One vst (I can't remember which one) was causing all my problems. Now I know that this isn't always the case. Righ now I'm having issues with the Scarbee Keyboard Collection's Halion player. But I'm pretty sure the problem is related to the dongle and not Acid 6.
Subject:RE: Wizooverb W2 is crashing Acid 6.0b Reply by: inverseroom Date:10/19/2006 10:34:16 AM Yes, I've narrowed it down in much the same way--the problem VST's are Wizooverb W2 Voxengo Overtone GEQ Electric-Q (posihfopit edition) Left Over Lasagne Pushtec The last three are indeed all freebies, and the last one in particular is pretty much still in beta. However, they all work with no glitches at all in energyXT, which is itself in beta, and only has one guy behind the wheel...and costs about 1/6th as much as Acid. Don't get me wrong--Acid smokes it in many areas. But I feel that a professional piece of software should be able to work around the glitches inherent in a broad format like VST. To be fair, I'm confident that Sony's working on this--they and M-Audio got right on it together, and I really, really appreciate it.
