I'm sorry if this has already been asked/posted elsewhere, but I went back quite a way and didn't find anything. Does anybody have, or is anybody willing to, post a detailed tutorial on making a good podcast with Audio Studio?

I'm new to the software and have never done a podcast. This would really help expand the content of my site, so any assistance is greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

I would actually suggest one of Sony Madison's sister apps, like ACID, to compose a podcast. (There's a great intro to podcasting here.)

(You'll still want to keep Sound Forge Audio Studio handy as its feature set will help you sweeten the audio.)

Thanks for your response. One more question: Do you think that something lighter than ACID, like ACID Music Studio, would do the job well enough? I'm not certain that I need anything so involved as PodCasts are about all that I will be doing with this.

I'm not an expert, but as far is i can tell, "podcast" is merely a fancy word for "downloadable mp3 file". You should be able to use any software that can create mp3, load this file to your website, and make a link to it.

At least, when i visit sites that offer podcasts all i see there are links to mp3 files. *shrug*

You're right, but Audio Studio is the current software that I have which is capable of voice recording.

Based on the reply above, it looks like Audio Studio might not be optimal for podcasts/vocal recordings. I want something that it easy to record and edit in, and am now looking for clarification as to whether ACID Music Studio will work just as well as ACID for what I want.

SFAS will work just fine to record and edit the audio. Record, edit, save, then save as mp3.

Then find a podcast editor, and add the mp3 to the podcast.

That's it.

ACID Music Studio could do just fine.

The reason I suggested something like ACID is because you can create something with a little more polish to it when creating a podcast.

While it's true that some people do is sit there and talk into a microphone when they make a podcast, it's certainly not as engaging. For example, you could create something with a lot more interest by merely having a quick musical interlude between topics.

It's true you can do construct something like that with Sound Forge, but it's something you can do non-destructively in ACID. (See the tutorial I posted to see what I'm talking about.)
