Subject:Remove Unused Clips not clearing?

I am making a new .acd file template from a multitrack recording session I just completed. I want to use the arrangement I have created as a template for the next recording session.

After deleting all clips from all tracks, then Removing Unused Clips, I "Save As" to a new .acd file in a new folder. I always have "Copy All Media With Project" checked as a standard practice.

As I understand it, having no clips in the project and having already performed "Remove Unused Clips", when I "Save As" there should be NO MEDIA copied with the .acd file.

If this is true, why then does ACID try to copy the media that I have recently removed from the project? If Remove Unused Clips is working correctly, this new .acd project should no longer have any reference to any audio files whatsoever.

Could someone please check this on your system and see if this is a bug, my system, or am I just misunderstanding the purpose of Remove Unused Clips?

Hmm...I tried repro'ing but ACID works as expected; only clips that exist in the Clip Pool are copied along with the project.

For example, I have a project with about 190 takes and I end up using only about 40 of them. Only those 40 takes are copied over.

If I delete all the clips on the timeline and use the "remove unused clips" command, the media is never copied along with the project to its new location.

(I should mention that this is a project that's already saved; I don't know about an unsaved project but I would imagine the same still applies.)

I am fairly certain I am experiencing some anomalies in my system. My experience in the past was just as you described. Perhaps a reinstall is in order.

This issue continues to be a problem for me. I haven't been able to determine what makes it work sometimes but not others.

If anything, have you tried completely uninstalling and then reinstalling ACID yet?

I did a complete ACID removal and reinstall yesterday, and so far it seems to have fixed the issue. I will report back if it shows up again. I can't say yet for sure, but the reinstall seems to have made things work a little more smoothly. I also disabled HT in my BIOS which may be affecting my whole machine in a good way. Apparently I have some plugs that are older not so HT-friendly.. So many tools going at once these days, it gets harder and harder to chase down issues.

If indeed a reinstall fixed this issue, the question I have is "What happened that made Acid need a reinstall?"

Thanks for your help mD.

What is HT in the bios?

HT = hyper threading

Kind of odd that disabling HT actually worked better for nutrapuppy's machine. You usually see a performance increase with it enabled (especially with apps that support it, like ACID Pro does).
