Sound Forge worked great when I first installed it, it was probably the best software product I ever bought but now after reformatting my hard drive it doesn't record -- audio plays fine but doesn't register on the sound meters -- I have a 2001 1800-AMD chip, Abit mother board and am running Windows XP - WTF? TIA for any response -- FZN |

Still can't get Sound Forge to record like it used to, downloaded it three times now, is there a switch I need to turn on somewhere? |

The trick was to download my Sound Blaster software (for my sound card). It's funny my sound card seemed to work great after my Hard Drive re-format so I didn't bother with the software!? Yea it was a real chore, I was recording with my open mic dictation recorder then uploading the sound file to my computer then transfering it to Sound Forge and only then could I work with it. Well that is the story--looking forward to recording with Sound Forge again! Message last edited on7/28/2006 11:27:42 PM byFZN. |

Well it worked great for a little while, then without warning no recording again, that's recording sound that can be heard over the speakers, but it would still play and I could still work with downloads with the SoundForge but just couldn't record radio programs live and the like -- So I did without for several months, did I mention I have a Creative Sound Blaster card and they include a recorder and sound board similar to SoundForge but not quite as nice (it wouldn't work either BTW) so I was fumbling around with the Creative recorder just now and found it had a switch that said "Record From" and selected the "What You Hear" option and viola it would record whatever was playing over the speakers and my SoundForge will now also record again!? What a work out!! Looking forward to recording again -- FZN Message last edited on10/17/2006 5:13:22 AM byFZN. |
