when adding guitar rig 2 to an audio track i get about 5 minutes or so of usage before the GR interface freezes up. i can still get sounds out of it, and i can even use the drop down presets to change presets, but i can not do any adjustments to the plugin. the tuner doesn't work (give feedback) etc.. i've contacted Native Instruments about this but i haven't received any replies. has anyone encountered this problem? is it something with acid? GR2 seems to function fine within sonar (both vst and dx versions) thanks |

Hey dude... What version of GR2 are you using? Are you opening up a project that had GR2 on a track already or do you add it to a fresh project and after playing it then freezes??? Is there any other plugins in the chain with it? If you delete GR2 and add it to a track again does it freeze up in 5 minutes as well? Is your input monitoring for your track set to "auto" or "on"? What latency settings are you set to? ie:buffer setting like 10ms using asio. Are you playing GR2 when it happens or were you doing work like editing in acid and then you noticed that it froze? A step by step repro for how you get this to happen will go a long way to insuring that it gets fixed. Ed. |

i'm using the latest update - not sure what version, but i downloaded the update right after the problems started. it happens on fresh projects, as well as saved ones. if i delete it from a project where its already frozen and then re-add it - it comes back frozen. -input monitoring is set to 'on' (not sure there's an auto for input montioring) - latency is set to around 10ms - tried it higher but no difference (and hard to play ) - it usually happens when i'm tweaking in the interface of either acid or gr2 - i'll try to recreate the steps but i'm pretty sure it just 'happens'. the only way to 'fix' it when it freezes, is to save the project with the frozen gr2 plugin. open a new project, create a new audio track, add gr2 as a plugin, save that project, then go back and open the original frozen project. then it will work for a little while longer. basically i need to just find a non-frozen instance of it. it seems to remember it either way. thanks for your detailed questions, i'll see if i can get some more info and post back. |
