I've got The virtual instrument SYMPHONIC - MOTU, but when i try to work with the VSTi Symphonic, my computer FREEZE, and i can't do nothing else !I need to kill the process. And reboot my computer
I bought this Software, all is indicate in the box that it works with VSTi.
Symphonic works very well with "ABLETON LIVE"(the latest version).
And Acid Pro 6 needs to works too ! Because i have other VSTi wich runs very good!

Thank you for your analyse of my problem. I changed all my hardware on my PC to try to have the best performances with Acid (i like so much !) and the Symphonic, but the problem persists !

It's okay that all VST instrument need to runs with Acid Pro 6, so why have we so many conflicts with the Symphonic MOTU ???

Please help me !

We tested ACID against the MOTU Mach5 VSTi and encountered no problems. MOTU assured us that their other VST Instruments would function correctly if Mach5 worked.

We are attempting to obtain a license from MOTU so that we can investigate any problems with their Symphonic VSTI.

Have you contacted MOTU regarding this issue?

Thanks
Peter

hi,

thanks for your response.
I submitted my problems to MOTU, and they ask me to make some test with the Trial version of Ableton Live. I made it, and i have no problems with Ableton Live.

Motu says to me that the origins of my problems comes from Acid Pro 6, wich is not optimised to run with the Symphonic MOTU.

When i insert the Symphonic Motu in Acid Pro 6, i have problems with the displayer of the Plug-in, after the problems of FREEZ of all the application comes when i start to play something.

All is good with Ableton Live, everything is very fluid.

i wish you have very quickly the License to help you to make some tests !

Thank you very much
For information my configuration of my hardware :
- Acid Pro 6 & le Motu symphonic.
- Windows XP Pro Sp2 (new install).
- 2 Go de RAM ( GEIL Mark)
- Graphic card GEFORCE Nvidia 9700 GT / 256 Mo
- Motherboard : Asus P5W Deluxe Home Digital lastest Chipset i975X
- OS on Hard Disk IDE & the DATA of Symphonic on another hard disk SATA .
- Sound Card EMU 1820 M, 9Ms of latency.
- Latest Drivers of USB iLok (to activate the Symphonic Motu).

I just wanted to add to this by saying that I'm having the same problem. Motu Symphonic will show up in the instrument list, it will let me select it and it will load. It will even play and work like it is supposed to, but within just a few minutes, it freezes and crashes Acid. I certainly hope a patch is forthcoming soon, as I need to use Motu Symphonic and I have no other VSTi host.

Something to try:

In your ACID General Prefs, disable the AutoSave option.

We are still waiting to get a license of MOTU Symphonic, until we do I can't say whether this issue will be addressed. MOTU is being very unresponsive.

Have you contacted MOTU regarding this issue? Have they responded or recommend anything?

MOTU said to me to test it with another Program for example Ableton Live. And it's true that everything work really better with Ableton Live (Trial version downloaded on their website) ! Without any Crash or Freeze !!

Best regards

It is nice to know that it works with Live. Not really helpful to us though. My point in asking is that you are a MOTU customer. If they wont help you, then they will never help us to help you.

MOTU refuses to discuss it with us. Not much we can do about it until they are willing to cooperate. Even if we had this in house, it uses iLok protection so we can't debug against it to determine what it is doing (or not doing).

Anyway, did you try my suggestion of turning off autosave in ACID? If not, please, try this and let me know.

Hi,

Sorry, i've just disabled "autosave" in ACID, but it doesn't work...

Sniff :-(

Thanks for trying it.

FWIW: I just ordered a license of Symphonic.

I have also tried to reproduce any problems with Mach5 and I have no problems at all.

Is there anything you are doing that you think I should know about?

Simplest step by step case to reproduce the problem?

I test MSI Symphonic with the sound card Firewire Solo (M-Audio), and it's better for me. I have just problems with the screen of the plug-in MSI (it freezes, but i can play without Crash of my machine, so it's better !).
Another thing, when i open a "project" with almost 20 or 30 tracks and plug-ins and everthing we can insert in a project of a production, when i use the MSI Symphonic, i hear a decay between the sound that i play and the hearing of the sound. May be the soundcard Firewire Solo (M-Audio) it's not very perfomant when we have a projetc with a lot of plug-ins & tracks...

I don't know if the drivers ASIO of the Delta 1010 it's better or not, because my projects are very heavy !

Thank U !

I have reproduced the problem you are seeing.

Unfortunately, we cannot determine the cause since MOTU uses the iLOK protection. iLok prevents us from running in a debugger.

I have made every attempt at getting MOTU on line here, but so far they don't appear interested.

Oddly, their Mach5 VSTi does not have any issues with ACID 6.

We have not had any other VSTi cause the same problem.

So, until we can get MOTU to work with us on this, there is nothing we can do to resolve this issue.

We are not giving up. We are trying to get MOTU's attention, but since they have yet to reply so far, I am not hopeful.

Peter

Hi,

Does the latest Update of Acid (version 6.0c) resolve some problems concerning the bug with Motu Symphonic ?

Thank you.

Richard,
I've been following this thread, and I have a suggestion. Have you asked MOTU to contact sony? I wonder if you could help. Just a thought.

No. We have discovered part of the cause, but there is also a problem with the plug-in itself. We have not heard anything back from MOTU on this issue.

This behaviour from MOTU is so disappointing. They're acting either lazy, or paranoid, or even both. I really hope you guys get thru this one (good luck !!).
