I have been using SF since version 6.0. I recently recieved the latest Sony promotional material called "A Video Production Powerhouse". On page 16-17 there is a promotion for SF 8. I was curious about the window displayed on page 16 and attempted to duplicate it. I could do everything except for the tabs on the lower 3 windows that included the tabs of Undo/Redo; Plug-In Magager; Explorer on the first Window; Script Editor, Keyboard on the second window; and Regions List, Spectrum Analysis, Playlist on the third window. I am aware of these views but how do you combine these views in one window with tabs at the bottom? I think that would be a nice shortcut to use. Thanks, TomG |

Hi Tom, It's called Window Stacking. Just drag and drop one window on top of another and they will stack together. Here's an exercise from my Sound Forge 8 Power book: 1. Choose View > Regions. 2. Dock the Regions window to the bottom of the Workspace. 3. Choose View > Undo/Redo History. 4. Dock the Undo/History window in the same place as the Regions window. Notice that both windows are now stacked on top of each other and there are tabs on the bottom of the windows. 5. To access the window you want to use, click the appropriate tab to bring that window to the front. 6. You can also dock more windows in the same location without stacking them. Choose View > Playlist. 7. Dock the Playlist window to the bottom of the Workspace, but drag it toward the bottom right of the Workspace instead of the bottom left. Notice that you now have two stacked windows on the bottom left and one docked window on the bottom right. Thanks Scott, I have never done that before. Is that a function of Windows or something just built into SF? Anyways, I appreciate the instructions and it really DOES pay to read some of the promotional stuff since: a: I wasn't aware that I got a license for CD Architect when I got SF8 way back when b. I learned this neat trick I was unaware of just by looking at the pictures!!!! TomG Message last edited on10/8/2006 5:56:24 PM byTomG. |

Hi Tom, No problem. That is a feature of SF, not Windows. Scott -- Scott R.
