Awesome news folks, Acid Pro 6 now works in vista. Not sure what changes ms made but it installed and works now....Awesome news!

They replaced/restored a missing component that ACID requires to run.

It is core OS stuff. You need build 5744 or later.

Now if Microsoft would only have reasonable EULA's we'd be cookin' with gas.

Incidentally, and not that it's been a problem with ACID so far, does ACID take advantage of dual/multi-core processors in Vista, or is it too early to tell?

ACID 6 is fully SMP aware. It takes advantage of dual cores and dual procs on XP today and there is nothing to indicate that the same wont be true for Vista.
