Everytime I start ACID P6, I must go to preferences and reset the audio device to the Delta 1010. ACID always, without fault defaults to Microsoft Sound Mapper. I've set the Delta 1010 to disable audio app control of the sound card. When the MS Sound Mapper is used, I get lots of lag when using soft synths. That goes away when the 1010 is selected. PLEASE NOTE: the Midi device setting always starts up as Delta 1010. I never have to go in and reset that. No problems otherwise. |

>>I've set the Delta 1010 to disable audio app control of the sound card What does this mean? When you exit ACID after making the changes, do you get any kind of error notice? Peter |

>>I've set the Delta 1010 to disable audio app control of the sound card What does this mean? - The Delta 1010 (with latest driver update) can be set to diable software from assigning it's own monitor, inout and other audio controls. IOW: the 1010 handles the I/O When you exit ACID after making the changes, do you get any kind of error notice? - No error messages. ACID P6 exits cleanly and restarts with no problem. Peter - Thanks Peter |

Do have another sound card in your system....like a Soundblaster or the internal sound card activated? I have the 1010 and I have never ever had a problem with Acid..... VP |

Since I wrote about it here... it hasn't happened. Prior to my first email concerning this it happened everyday! I have a Delta 44 installed but it never causes mishaps... I do use Adobe Audition. |

Huh? So do you have the Delta 44 AND the Delta 1010 installed...or what? If so - why? |

Yes... both installed and operating well. M Audio suggests and supplies the drivers for multiple instances of DA cards. I use the additional outputs for routing soft synths to the console |

Well...there is something going on with dual cards that may contributing to your issues. Still not clear why you need to "route" soft synths to a "console" since all the soft synths can all be handled internally...especially when the 1010 has 10 out already....must have a lot of outputs to wrangle with..... |

I have a 1010lt and I just fired up Acid to check...you are right, it was not set to ASIO (despite the fact that this is what I set it for). I selected ASIO and restarted Acid two times and the setting stuck. Now I wonder what will happen if I reboot? If it matters, I only have the 1010lt installed on my computer. |

In the past, the 1010 ASIO drivers have been very picky about whether the hardware is in use. That is, if they are busy in any way shape or form when ACID starts up, the drivers will tell ACID they are unavaliable and ACID will revert back to another driver model - typically the Mapper. Peter |

Peter... I think you've hit the nail on the head! I've tallied the incidents and found that if I start ACID too soon after closing Audition 2.0, ACID Pro^ will not recognize the M Audio drivers at all. I close and restart ACID then the 1010 driver is recognized but must be re-assigned as the primary. The Delta 1010 is a fine product, I will stick with 'em... this is a situation to be noted for all ACID users... in fact I seem to recall having seen something like this a while back now that I think of it "Vocalpoint"... yes we do have a lot of IO concerns... not all of them are addressed in each session but when we do... it's necessary to have 'em ready. THanks Everyone: for your input and suggestions !!! This case is closed I believe! |
