Looks like it’s an ASIO driver problem. Your specs are hidden in your profile so we can’t tell what type of sound card you are using.

There have been lots of problems with ACID and EMU hardware. Just search the forum and you'll see. I would contact Sony technical support if this problem persists.

IMHO, EMU drivers are not very good. They are written by the same folks that write the buggy Sound Blaster drivers. I would seriously consider a new sound card but that’s your choice. I would never buy anything from Creative (which is the parent company of EMU). I have owned their stuff and it’s simply not worth the effort to try and get it working and even then it never quite works correctly. (just my 2 cents)
