Helixboard18 FW yes. Just flicked my MAckie 1202VLZ-Pro to get it.

Plugged it into my Vegas laptop (HP Pavillion 1.7GHz) and it works like a charm. Doesn't sound particularly different to the Mackie on the analogue side of things.

Been waiting for something like this for years, as I do a bit of live recording coupled with PA.

Thanks...

I've seen you around so I know to trust your opinion. I've owned a phonic mixer before and was pretty happy.

When I saw this, I was very excited about the FW24 with the 16 mic pres and the inserts and direct outs...which the alesis doesn't have.

i think, as alesis multimix does, it feeds firewire outputs with post eq, post fader source. recording is affected during live mixing. so good recording or good live mix.
maybe i am wrong.

I have an Alesis MutliMix 16 which is connected to my Computer via Firewire. Acid pro sort of recognizes the audio. The level meters move when I tap the mic, but when I hit the record button nothing is recorded. The Wave line stays in a completely straight line. Yet the level meters continue to move.
Any suggestions?
Thanks
Peter
