Sorry, but need to rant a bit here. I have recently purchased the PSP Media Manager and have had one of the worst experiences ever in trying to get this $20 bit of software activated. I have already spent considerable time collecting the serial number etc, (I never did get the e-mail containing the serial number as was suggested on your site). Having just spoken with your tech support I find that I now need to uninstall the downloaded product I orginally installed and disable my anti-virus and spyware scanning software to enable a correct install so that Sony can have its way with the registry on my machine and I can finally get this product running.

Having been a victim of your recent audio CD copyright protection rootkit disaster, I find this all very unsettling and completely inconvenient to the point that I am feeling that I should avoid purchasing Sony software in the future. This is just a 'heads up' with regard to your currently rather invasive and complicated method of selling your software online. Thanks for reading.

Who are you speaking to? This isn't Sony Tech Support. This is a user forum of individual Acid software users. Sony employees officially don't monitor this forum, even if occasionally one or two might glance at it.

Usually, it's recommended you disable your antivirus and/or antispyware program before you install a program anyway. Otherwise, the antivirus/antispyware software might assume there's an attack being attempted.

The whole rootkit debacle is not MMS' fault; blame the higher-ups at Sony Music for that. (Remember that this is basically the same team of developers that were formerly under Sonic Foundry.)
