Is it ok to install ACID on my laptop and PC? Some companies like Native Instruments and Cakewalk allow this.

If not, is it possible to buy a multiple license as with anti-virus apps?

I'm also building a new PC and wonder if it's ok to run ACID on both PC's in sync using Rewire or some other connection? It would really be useful to have the power of both PC's.

I also own Vegas 6 so using two PC's would be very useful and might save me upgrading to dual core cpu for the time being.

Sure, you can install it on multiple machines, as long as you're the only one using it. From the KB:

Our licensing agreement permits you to install the software on as many machines as you own, as long as you are not running the programs at the same time. For instance, you can install the software on your home machine and on your laptop. You are not allowed to install the software on multiple machines if you are going to be using them simultaneously, such as in a home studio setting. If you are going to run the software concurrently on more than one machine, you would need to purchase a separate license for each computer.

Note that when you install the software on a different computer you will need to complete the registration process again. Register the software as you did the first time to unlock the program on each machine. You can register online directly within the software, via the phone, or on our website through our online form.

Thanks for the info.

It looks like I won't be able to use two PC's at the same time unless I buy a seperate copy of ACID.

If I install ACID on my laptop can I use the same reg as on the PC or will this not work?

You should be able to use two PCs at the same time, provided you are the only one using them at that time. (SMS is basically going on your trust here, I would assume.)

As noted before, you just have to go through the registration process after installing and launching ACID for the first time on each machine. If both PCs are connected to the Internet and you register that way, it shouldn't be a problem. (If there is a problem, you can always contact support.)

Don't use the same activation keys; I believe they're bound to the computer ID (which, if I remember correctly, is randomly generated; it'll change if you format your machine).

Thanks once again. I'll network the new PC with my current one and register ACID on the new PC.

I wonder if anyone has had any success syncing ACID on seperate PC's?
