How does one make a final mix that makes everyone happy? Here's the scoop...I make a c.d. of a choir concert every year and spend a lot of time getting the sound files to sound best...it takes about an hour per song to do all the necessary stuff, noise gating, equalization, balancing lef/right, compression, etc., but then when all is finished I get asked to tweak some more, more reverb or less reverb...unless I have everyone in the choir at the p.c. when I do the mixing, how do others solve this issue??? |

Mixing ? In Soundforge ?!! Little of the stuff you quote is 'necessary', and sounds like you need more attention in the first place with recording gear and environement. If you recording is frought with problems, then some restoration work may be required to get an acceptable result. The first step it to kick everyone in the choir OUT. Nominate one skilled peson as the 'producer' , and work with that person alone. geoff Message last edited on9/2/2006 3:42:52 PM byGeoff_Wood. |
