Subject:Help - Unable to Drag a Groove to a Track

So I sliced up the drum track for one of my songs into about 20 loops (sliced mode), which I have laid out on a track. The results are good, but I want to experiment with different grooves on the loops. Now, when I try to drag a groove from the groove pool onto the track it displays the "not allowed" symbol. What is preventing the groove from being applied to the track? If I copy one of the loops to a new track I am able to apply the groove there. What attributes of my track could be disallowing the groove? Too many loops? Thanks, Randy |

Grooves cannot be applied to Beatmapped tracks (but just about everything else). I'm guessing your drum track is a Beatmapped track? Iacobus |

I thought with Acid Pro 6 audio tracks were basically free-form now and could contain any sequence of one-shots, beatmapped, and loop clips in a single track. I'll have to check when I get home, but I suppose it is possible that I have an unused beatmapped clip lurking somewhere in the track. I will look in the clip pool for the track and see if this is the case. Perhaps the existence of a beatmapped clip in the pool, even if not used, causes this problem. Thanks for the guidance! Cheers, Randy |

mD, Thanks for the hint! I had a beatmapped clip (unused) sitting in the clip pool, once I removed it I was able to apply grooves to the track. Cheers, Randy Message last edited on9/1/2006 1:48:42 PM byrandygo. |
