Subject:Can't Save Edited Acid Properties?

I feel like I'm on a roll!

What incredibly helpful advice from Iacobus!

So, one more ... (PS I also posted this at acidplanet.)

Is there a file size restriction on changing acid properties using sound forge?

I have some 'talking' drum hits of known key signature. When I open the Special> Edit Acid Properties window the file is shown as a loop with "Don't Transpose." I enter the proper key signature and hit "OK" and then Save the file. However, when I reopen it the changes are gone and it reverts to the "Don't Transpose." The same happens with the number of beats I select in the the same window. It always shows "4" and reverts to this after changing and saving.

The files, by the way, are not read only or otherwise unable to be altered.

Thanks in advance.

You need to save more than the Acid song file (.acd). When you are in the "Stretch" tab of the Clip Properties window, there are Save and "Save As" buttons in the top right that are used to save the actual media file (wav, mp3, whatever). If you save the Acid metadata in the media file directly like that, it should work correctly the next time you open your project.

Thanks ...

I was trying to save the wav file, not the acd file, in Sound Forge.

Anyway I found the "Clip Properties" window in AP6 and am having success.

I have to say the help file was totally unhelpful in finding the window for Clip Properties. It told you what to do, but not how to get there. Diligence, stubborness or obsessiveness (take your pick!) helped me find it under the main View menu.
