Greetings from Indian Rock Records: My name is Mike Driscoll and I am the Creative Director for IRR Recording Studios, and a loyal SONY product user. In fact I advertise "Sony Music Software" on my Website, and encourage my clients to consider using these products. I have also been involed with a study by Cornell University as an active "Acid Planet" composer and Studio that uses these products. Today, August 28, 2006, I received my Upgrade from Acid Pro 4.0 to Acid Pro 6.0. I was very excited! To my surprise, the package was not what I expected and the CD's were scratched, defective and WILL NOT READ on my Studio PC (which has multiple Gig's of free memory). Also, I did not receive the Boxed upgrade that was sold to me by the Sony Rep on the phone. All I got was a platic bag. I have been using Acid Pro 4.0 for several years without any problems and have found this product very useful and versitle. When I ordered the upgrade I was assured that I would be receiving a Boxed version of ACID PRO 6.0 Upgrade. All I received was a plastic bag containing 2 CD's a packing slip, Keyboard commands and a catologue. Where is the Manual? Am I suppose to receive a new manual? That was one of the reasons why I puchase this product upgrade in the first place. Besides getting defective Disc's that will not download/run the upgrade. I didn't receive a manual. As a recording studio owner it is important that I have reference materials and resouces that my clients can see and touch. When I purchased Acid Pro 4.0 several years ago, the packaging and extensive resources contained inside were outstanding. What I received today was a hugh dissapointment. Now what Do I do? How does this problem get resolved? Sorry for the Rant, but when I purchase products for my studio I expect them to work, and be backed by the necessary quality assurance. Also I expect to receive what I was sold. If anyone has any solutions or suggestions to this problem please feel free to contact me. Yours in Music Michael Driscoll |

You should go to Sony, not this users' forum. We will all be sympathetic, but cannot do much about your issues. You can download the update from Sony's site to save waiting for a new CD. I don't think you get a printed manual. This is pretty much standard with most software these days. You can print out the included pdf, but most people don't bother. I stopped doing this years ago when I relaised I never refer to the printed copies any more - it's faster to open the pdf. Good luck - AP6 is worth the effort! |

There is a manual, but no box. I too received the "boxed" version, which should be called the "bagged" version. But it includes a brief manual. It's silly nowadays to still sell software in big boxes, when normally all there is inside is a CD or two, and a lot of air. So the bagged version is, to me, just fine. Hi, I live in Turkey and altough I could download the software I chose to buy the BOXED version (paying extra shipping). Because, that will sound fun to some of you out there, but the "BOX" gives an inspiration to me and also the manual. You know you can go out there and buy a used korg M1 synth with scrathes for 100$ but in 80s a BOXED M! with ink smelling manuals would double the inspiration. And yesi I also did received the sofware in a bag, just like a pc magazine has sednt it to me. I agree with the complains of the poster.. Message last edited on8/30/2006 10:08:01 AM byghanedan. |
