DOES ANYONE KNOW HOW TO SOLVE THE PROBLEM THAT I HAVE WITH ACIDPRO-5 , THAT DOES NOT WORK AFTER UPGRADING TO VER...6, FIRST I SENT E-MAIL TO SONY TECHNICAL DEPT, THEY NVER SENT ANYTHING BACK AS FAR AS AN ANSWER TO THE PROBLEMS THAT I HAVE. MY VERSION ACIDPRO5 ALL WAYS WORKED WITH MY VERSION OF WINDOWS XP, AFTER I DOWNLOADED VER6 AND UPGRADES FOR ACIDPRO5 IT DOES NOT WORK ANYMORE. I DELETED REINSTALLED VERSION 5 , AND DOES NOT WORK. VERSION ACIDPRO6 AFTER I REMOVED-IT FROM CONTROL PANEL\ADD, REMOVE PROGRAMS AND REINSTALLING AGAIN DOES ASK-ME FOR A PASSWORD OR TO PURCHASE THE PROGRAM , SO WHAT ARE WE HAVING HERE, ANY HINTS ? THANKS

First suggestion: find the Caps Lock key on your keyboard. Turn it off.

Second: did you post your question to Sony via "My Account"? They generally respond within 48 hours, in my experience.

Third: did you download AP6 from the net or install from CD? If you downloaded it, try downloading again. There have been some users that experienced installation problems from an incomplete download.

For some reason...I don't think it is an "ACID" problem.

fpinto: So you're saying you have a full version of ACID Pro 5 and you were trying the ACID Pro 6 trial?

Hi , and yes i have version 5 from the cd acidpro5 that worked very well . I downloaded version 6 to try-it, ok for what ever reason version 5 does not work anymore after i installed ver6, i removed ver 5 and installed-it again but does not work also removed ver 6 try out version and reinstalled-it again, but now when i acess ver6 it says for me to supply password or purchase the program. I can-not format my drive right now for this issue becouse it would take-me a lote of time to setup again. I have windows xp , every thing works well on this computer exept the problem that i have right now with acidpro5. At list if i could evaluate the version6 again and see that it works i would pay for-it and upgrade to ver6 with out a problem , but i dont know if it will work so i dont know what to do , any help will be appreciated very much , thanks again...

Try this:

Uninstall both ACID Pro 5 and the ACID Pro 6 trial if you haven't done so already. Then look for the "ACID Pro 5" and "ACID Pro 6" folders and delete them under (by default) "C:\Program Files\Sony" and "C:\Program Files\Sony Setup".

Then try to reinstall ACID Pro 5 and see if you can get it to launch. Remember that you can use the ACID Pro 5 update as it can act as a full version of the software provided you have your serial key handy.

If you can get ACID Pro 5 to work, try installing the ACID Pro 6 trial. Remember NOT to install ACID Pro 6 where ACID Pro 5 is in the same folder. Let the installer use the default folders if possible.

ON EDIT: I forgot to mention that ACID Pro 6 really is worth the upgrade, especially if you record a lot. * Be aware that if you're used to the "old way" in previous versions of ACID Pro to prepare yourself for the new way. It's not bad at all. Just keep saying "multiple media per track" to yourself and you should be all right. ;)

HTH,
Iacobus

* I usually get accused of being Sony's whore when I say things like that, being "in the know" and all, but it's true that ACID Pro 6 is better. Besides, I own a Nintendo DS Lite. :)
