I have a simple set of 3 drum loops playing. I set the project to loop, say, 16 bars. I insert a new MIDI track and a VSTi (Kontakt 2) and start playing along. Everything is OK when playing live (except that some sustained notes drop for no apparent reason, but that is another issue). I enable record on the track and hit Record in the transport. I jam some ideas. I hit stop and now I have two issues. First of all, if I play longer than the 16 bar loop (let's say 32 bars), I get a MIDI clip that has no evidence of the first 16 bars. Where did those notes go? I suspect this is pilot error, as I am used to recording audio tracks with loops and have become accustomed to that behavior. Is there a way to make ACID 6 see MIDI tracking the same as Audio tracking, generating a take for each recorded loop cycle? Secondly, the MIDI recorded during the SECOND loop cycle is missing some notes. I have no filters enabled. Most of the notes are there, but some, which I am certain I played, are just not there. What could be causing this? |

As far as I know, ACID Pro 6 let's you do tasks such as punch-ins and takes just like you can with digital audio. (Though, admittedly, I really haven't tried MIDI recording extensively as I'm no MIDI maven.) After recording, have you tried cycling through the clips by making the recorded event active and pressing C on your keyboard? (Shift+C cycles backwards.) Iacobus |

You rock, thank you. I am able to locate the missing takes using that shortcut. Some notes are still missing from some takes, however, which is a serious problem. Cheers, np |
