VERY annoying problem: When I open several files at the same time, the windows end up in a strange order on the screen. If I am opening files called 1.wav, 2.wav, 3.wav, 4.wav they end up on the screen as 4, 1, 2, 3 with 3 being live, at the front. This is incredibly annoying since I ALWAYS want to work on #1 first! A similar thing happens when extracting audio from a CD. The files always end up in reverse order. Is there any way to change the way it places files after opening them? Also, since Im talking about extracting files, why does it say "Extract from CD 5 - track 5" when all the files came from the SAME cd?? The CD number increments with each track ripped. It should say "from CD 01" until the next cd is inserted. Scott |

When selecting a group of files in the explorer window, click on the last one first, then Shift-click on the first one last. Then open. The last file clicked is the first one opened. Folks have been complaining about the auto naming of CD ripped files for years. Some of the SONY programmers (SonicFoundry back then) even posted a question in this forum asking what users wanted. There seemed to be a lot of confusion and no concensus, so nothing changed. It doesn't bother me at all. The files aren't saved on your drive when ripped, so i merely do a Save As after editing (or not editing) each one and type in the name i want, which is usually the name of the artist/album/song. |
