Subject:Best video format for Acid video track???

in Acid, when scoring music to a video file, what is the best format to work with in terms of smoothest playback on an external monitor? Quicktime, or AVI or MPEG...etc. I inserted a WMV today and although its only 6 megs, it still stuttered on playback...I think its becuase Acid had to decode it on the fly? In Vegas you can reduce the preview resolution for smoother playback, but not in Acid.

I know its best to work with lower res or smaller video files since its only used for scoring music, but there is nothin in the help file in terms of the best format or codec when outputting it to an external monitor.

Thanks

I would think AVI would be the best but I'm not sure. I'd have to do some testing.

I know that ACID converts the video to DV before sending it to whatever DV-to-analog device that you're using.

When you reduce the preview resolution in Vegas, does it improve external playback?
