I know there is another post but I wanted this to be clear to evey-one.

The picture quality on the DVDs is as on the web demos.....really bad. Not only are the not close to DVD quality they are way below normal TV sharpness. This is by far the worst example of this type of product I have ever seen. Coming from a company with Sonys video acumen and assets this is unforgiveable. Factor in the price and it is nothing short of theft. The real world footage is OK but the vast majority shows the Acid screen. It also seems out of focus. No sharpness at all.

The content is very good but is rendered useless by picture quality. This needs to be re-shot or burned uncompressed... Whatever. I will be seeking a refund.

In the mean time stay well away from this rampantly sub-par product.

Do you recommend Acid Pro 6 book instead?

Just to play devil's advocate here, you have to realize that DVD video is almost always compressed; not compressing it will vastly increase the amount of DVD media needed.

Compounding the situation is how sharp a monitor's image is; even the smallest amount of compression used will be noticeable. (This is also why I typically use GIF instead of JPEG as the file format when taking screen grabs of interfaces like ACID Pro's. JPEG's much more suited for full-color photographic images; GIF's much more suited for line art.)

That being said, I thought the Web demos were really good considering the above. There was no mistake on what was going on (which may be because I could probably navigate ACID Pro with my eyes closed, but nevertheless...).

I haven't seen the DVDs because, frankly, I don't need them. Could you post a screen grab from one of the DVDs?

Iacobus
