Subject:6.0b : Crash after a few seconds recording

Hello, I just made my teacher purchase Acid Pro 6 and I'm having a serious probem when recording. Whenever I try to record, Acid will crash after a few seconds. The crash log is not the usual Sony one it's the Windows one :

AppName: acid60.exe AppVer: 6.0.0.305 ModName: winmm.dll
ModVer: 5.1.2600.2180 Offset: 0001cb8a

In Vegas 6 it records fine.

Record what? Audio or MIDI?

Are you using Wave or ASIO drivers?

Are you using external MIDI hardware of anykind?

Hi Peter, thanks for your answer.

The problem only occurs when recording audio. We record through a Presonus Firebox card using it's ASIO driver.

Midi works fine.

I just tested and the problem seems to occur only when using the Presonus ASIO driver, it works fine when using the MME driver. As for MIDI, we have an M-AUDIO ProKeys88sx connected via USB.

I have the Presouns hardware here. I will have a look to see if I can reproduce.

Try this if you can: Disable all your external MIDI inputs and outputs in ACID and then try to record. Does the problem persist?

Thanks Peter, I will check next time I visit my teacher. For the moment I told him to use the Windows Classic Wave driver which should do the job for now.
