Subject:ACID crashes on 'MSVCR71.dll'
Posted by: dont

Greetings

I purchased ACID 6.0 a few weeks ago and installed it. every since I have had issues with ACID crashing. I used a trial version for a long time and had no problems with it, but as soon as I got the box in the mail it started giving me fits with 'MSVCR71.dll'

This is happening every time I use the program.

I have downloaded the (Version 6.0a (Build 263)) update and done a clean install with it, but the issue persists.

I am not using media manager

it seems to happen when I use save, copy or when autosave runs (I have disabled autosave now to cut down on the crashes).

I get the below error, then following after is a alert box wthat says " D:projects\rewire\rewireDLL\portable\ReWireDLL.cpp(990) : VERIFY falure"

thanks
don t

The error dump is incomplete. Could you update to include the entier error msg?

Can you describe what you are doing in detail when this error occurs?

What does your project look like? Are you using Softsynths? External Control? Specific VST or DX FX plugings?

Note:
The ReWire.DLL.cpp warning is misleading. This message is produced by the ReWire system dll provided by Propellerheads and indicates that something has failed in the host app (ACID) that uses the ReWire system. It does not indicate a problem related to ReWire.

This time it happened the first time I hit the save button. It happens in fourdifferent ways, on autosave, when the save button is clicked or when I hit ctrl: + S or ctrl: + C

Project: 35 tracks, very small loops all less that 0.5 MB

Audio: 44,100 Hz, 16 Bit, Stereo/Mono

Temp storage: default install. My Documents\Sony ACID Pro 6.0 Projects

I am not using any VST instruments or MIDI

FX plug ins are:
Cakewalk sonitus gate
Sony track EQ

My system specs are in my profile

I do not have any errors with other software/plugin/VST combinations and no hardware issues during operation of other software.

That is about it.
Thanks
DT

I think it is related to a null value in a clip name.

it seems that when I right click on a clip and rename it to " " (empty text string ) it will crash every time.

If I rename it to anything or just one character it will not crash

run that past the programmers.
