Latency in VEGAS vs. ACID audio HELP! -ACID Product Family

However I use Vegas for recording live instruments and vocals because when I press record in Vegas and Vegas starts recording the mic Vegas has no latency whatsoever. With the same settings in Acid 6a (and 5), Acid is a bit off. Same sound card too (Sound Blaster).
