Hi my name is Patch and I have ACID Music studio 6.0 I have a Casio keyboard which I use with an external MIDI Cable that is USB to MIDI. That is basically the problem, I suppose. Does ACID Music studio 6.0 work with the brand MIDI Cable company, Turtle Beach? Because it might be my cable, or it might be my Computer. I have an emachine. it is brand new. But i have enough ram and I have a large enough Harddrive. The problem with my MIDI that i forgot to state is that I cannot record MIDI data with ACID home studio 6.0 When i click on record on ACID home music studio 6.0, when I am in the program, it looks as if it is recording and the data is working, but when I am finished, there is nothing on the screen to play. so that is about it. Thank you for your time. My email for you all to reach me at is freedomcall82@yahoo.com thanks. i really can use the help too i have been trying to figure out why my USB to MIDI cable doesnt work it is hooked up correctly too, with the connections. thanks -Patch ps. the sound card i have with my emachine PC is Realtek. |

Hi Patch, a couple of things could be going on here. First let’s make sure that your Casio keyboard is being seen by ACID Music Studio. In ACID go into the menu item Options > Preferences > MIDI and make sure that your keyboard shows up in the list and has a check mark next to it for both input and output. Do you see this? Next, are you playing the internal sounds on your Casio keyboard or using a Soft Synth in ACID? If you are trying to play your external sounds from the keyboard, make sure the MIDI track has your keyboard selected as the device. Otherwise make sure you have the appropriate soft synth selected as the device. One other thing: when you say, “... when I am in the program, it looks as if it is recording ”. What makes you think this? Is the green meter bar responding to your MIDI notes or are you just hearing the MIDI notes but the bar doesn’t show activity? I ask because if the Casio has internal sounds, you just may be hearing them but the keyboard is not sending MIDI data down the MIDI cable. If you don’t think you’re getting any MIDI data to your PC, download a copy of MIDIOX. This handy little utility will show you the actually MIDI data being transmitted. If you don’t see any MIDI data, there may be a setting on your Casio keyboard to send external MIDI data or not. Make sure it is enabled so that the keyboard sends MIDI notes to the external cable. ~jr Message last edited on7/9/2006 6:33:23 AM byJohnnyRoy. |
