I just thought I'd mention that my new Line6 Toneport UX2 works wonderfully well with Acid 6 Pro. This has quickly become my favorite audio interface. |

Yes, I have an UX2, that I use with ACID Pro 6a and my laptop. For a USB device, it has great stable low latency (down to 128 samples/2.9msec) ASIO drivers and only moderate CPU usage. You can even change your buffer settings, on the fly, while in the middle of a project. Of course, you also get all the great Line 6 guitar & bass amps, cabs, FX and a bunch, of nice mic pre emulations, via it's GearBox software, as well. If I was to recommend an under $200 low latency ASIO audio device, with a wealth, of professional audio features, that also works quite well with ACID Pro 6, it would have to be the TonePort UX2, hands down! I just bought all the expansion modelpacks. I was surprised that there are a number of monophonic guitar synths that are actually that: synths, not effects processes. They track relatively well too...monophonic so they are confused by chords or intervals, but not bad for lead or bass lines. This is one of those boxes that I would have bought for three times the price. Actually, by the time I ended up buying the model packs, I suppose that's what I did spend! Anyway, it just sounds wonderful and makes a whole bunch of my other gear kind of obsolete. |

I love that UX-2. It even looks cooler than other interfaces. Phantom power, real meters, lightweight for travel, stable software and drivers, and awesome sounds. I haven't even gotten much beyond the presets, they're so good. If you want even more oomph, try running your guitar into a tube mic pre-amp and then into the mic input of the UX-2 with the gain down (use the pre-amp's gain). Hot! |
