So is there any way to control the drag speed when you're highlighting (selecting) a portion of a file? Sometimes, when you take the cursor to the edge of the window it just flies along too fast, and you end up way past the point where you want to stop. Other times it meanders along at slow or moderate pace and it's easy to control.

I'm convinced there's a setting or something for this and I've just been missing it all this time.

Any insights?

Thanks

Try to Zoom in (-) key. If the file extends past the window/region and you move the cursor near the edge, it will jump (speed past) what you want. If you have zoomed in, the section you are trying to hightlight needs to be in full view
Hope that helps.

In Options->Preferences->General, check "Default to slow scroll while drag selecting".

There are also several handy navigation and selection keyboard shortcuts that you may find helpful. See Help->Keyboard Shortcuts for details.

J.
Thanks so much for that one. I had asked this question years ago and never got an answer, so I thought the work-around I had was the only option.
Thanks again for taking the time,
