Subject:Issues that desperately need a fix

On the 17th of this month I made a post about program maps..... Nobody answered.

I am putting in another post on a problem that I think seriously needs to be addressed.

In Acid Pro 6.0a there seems to be several glitches that the programers are quite slow to address. I have been working with midi workstations a long time, and so I consider myself somewhat proficient at this.

1. When I am wanting to move multiple events and the envelopes with them how does that happen? I have looked in the "Help", I've found nothing that explains this. In case this is not understood let me elaborate.
Track 1, piano played for 160 measures. I want to move measure 20 to 160 to measure 28. Nothing in the "helps" explains how to do this moving both events and envelopes together. Even editing the minute details of the events is not readily simple. Like for instance clicking on an event and a window opens displaying all of the properties of that event to be editable (is that a word).

Here is an idea, at least have a seperate midi editing window where everything about the events, and envelopes can be worked on.

Don't get me wrong, Acid is as awesome as it has ever been, but now that you have added the workstation element you guys have to think on a different level.

I really hope that someone will answer this post so that I can get on with the business of creating great music.

Tks

Hey Servon,
On the Toolbar, between the Automatic Crossfades & Metronome icons, there is a Lock Envelopes to Events icon. Make sure that is selected/highlighted.
With Lock Envelopes to Events enabled, events & envelopes will move together.
If you have the Clips Properties window docked and selected, whenever you select a clip, on the timeline, it's properties will be reflected. You can also, right click, on a clip and get a context menu, of various editing parameters. Learning the many keyboard shortcuts will really increase your editing proficiency, as well.

Cheers,

Billy Buck

Thank you Billy, this will help tremendously.
I knew that there was somebody out there even though my other post was never answered.
It's ironic that you would mention about keyboard shortcuts, because I am an avid user and believer in using shortcuts, but I haven't learned the ones from this product yet. I will take your advice and do so.

Tks again,
Servon

Don’t take the lack of replies to your previous post as something bad. You asked if anyone knew of a patch map and if no one does, you would expect to get no replies. I saw the post but had nothing to offer. Perhaps you could make your own? (they’re just XML files)

I hear you Johnny, I just figure that this is not some isolated need, and someone is probably needing the same thing, but no one has done anything about it. My bad if I'm wrong.

I already did start to make my own, but it is a tedious project which I'd rather not have to do, but so be it.

Tks again for everyones help,
until later.
