Subject:Joint Stereo By Default

I've noticed that Sound Forge Audio Studio 8 uses Joint Stereo (with Mid/side Stereo and Intensity Stereo selected) for all its MP3 saving Templates.

Is this ok? I mean is Joint Stereo (with Mid/side Stereo and Intensity Stereo selected) better than just normal Stereo? I'm worried that I've just encoded a lot of MP3 files with the WRONG settings!
