Subject:Most of my big problems in 6, still not fixed

Ok, so just had a chance to test out 6.0a to see what has been sorted out of the major issues I was having with 6.0.

Here are the major issues I am still having:

1) My Nomad Factory Blue Tubes 2 plugins still won't load in AP6. They have no trouble loading in Sound Forge, ACID Pro 5, Cubase, Ableton Live, or Sonar. What is it with that?

2) Instances of Antares Filter on tracks I did in AP5 make AP6 crash.

3) As far as I can tell, there are still a lot of automation problems. If I for instance, set the Threshold to automate on Waves L2, that control becomes stuck on the plugin GUI, and can then only be adjusted by altering the envelope in the track window. It does seem like the issue I've had with VSTi's automated parameters "fighting" me has been resolved at first glance. And of course all the Sony plugins work as they are supposed to.

4) New issues I'm having specific to 6.0a: Now I'll get stuck midi notes after recording a midi take often times. Also, when I try to play back midi takes after recording them, the notes won't make sound at all on playback, no matter what, unless you use the "draw" tool to manually draw in another note. Then, magically, it's functional the way it should be again. I don't recall this happening in 6.0, this must be a new bug.

Things that ACID Pro still HAS to have added to it:

1) Track Freezing capabilities and Remote SL Automap compatibility would be awesome, but if you do nothing else, PLEASE allow the user to set a metronome Count-in before recording (with adjustable # of count-in bars).

hello:

I too, just discovered that my Nomad Factory Blue Tubes 2 plugins don't work at all in AP6a ! (They worked fine in previous versions).

Seems as though problems with GURU have been fixed.

I haven't tried automation functionality with the L2 yet.

Oh, and I agree a "count-in" would be great! In addition to being able to adjust the volume and that annoying "cow-bell" sound for the click track of the metronome.

Hope someone from sony responds, as to "if any of these issues will be added/fixed in an update or not" (especially the Blue Tubes 2 bug)?

peace

Were you able to get Blue Tubes 2 to work in AP6 (pre AP6a)? I havn't been able to use my Nomad Factory plugs ever since the first AP6, they still work fine in AP5b though.

We are looking at the plugin related issues. All attempts to fix plugin related issues will be made for any updates to ACID 6.

You can adjust the metronome volume using the Preview Fader of the mixer. There is no control over the sound used.

A new feature - like the count-in - will not be addressed in an update. They will be considered for future versions of ACID. I highly recommend that you submit a feature request though the mechanism we provide for this.

Thanks,
Peter

Hello JPsycle:

I really don't know if they worked in AP6. Since I use GURU a lot more, I was more concerned about this getting fixed. And it was fixed in version 6a.

It is just now (after the update), that I tried to do a mix and discovered the whole bundle didn't work.

I was going to post, then I saw you were having the same issues. Peter and Sony are aware, and I "think" they are working on it for a
future update.

Thanks Peter. Looking forward to update. And as to a new "count-in feature", I have some work arounds for the meantime.

Peace
